LUXUniversity: AI Skills in NetSuite
Ask NetSuite's AI the same question twice and you can get two different answers. This session shows how a skill stops that, with live builds in Ask Oracle and Claude.
About this episode
A skill is the recipe NetSuite's AI follows: a markdown file whose name and description decide when it's used, plus step-by-step instructions, definitions, templates and, in Claude, helper scripts that keep the output the same every run.
Luke Hood, Luxent's AI engineer, walks through where AI shows up in NetSuite, how Ask Oracle and the AI connector each reach your data under your role's permissions, and how NetSuite meters Ask Oracle in AI units.
Most of the session is method: write a description with a trigger, a stated output and boundaries; name the data source; define the terms; fix the scope and shape of the result; say what the model must not estimate; and have it reconcile its own numbers. Two demos put that to work, an order-to-cash lag report in Ask Oracle on NetSuite Next and a lot trace report in Claude built on a custom tool and a Python validation script, followed by audience questions on audit trails and moving skills from sandbox to production.
